Our Students
We believe that every student should have an opportunity to develop socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually in an environment which fosters a positive self-concept and develops the skills to be readers and writers, to be mathematically literate, and to be critical thinkers.
Here are some quotes from our students:
- “The teacher knows how to help me do my best.”
- “Teachers at Glen Ogilvie are very smart and nice and we do lots of fun and exciting things.”
- “My teacher smiles a lot and always talks to me.”

Our Community
Volunteers are welcome partners in our school community, and their contributions directly support curriculum initiatives, including field trips and sports events as well as adding the personal touch to our cultural and school spirit events. Our milk, lunch, and nutritious snack programs are appreciated and eagerly anticipated by students and parents. The City of Ottawa offers a Before and After school program on site for school-age children grades 1 through 5, and Children’s Universe Day Care has an on-site program for kindergarten through grade 5. The Glen Ogilvie School Council is committed to maintaining a strong relationship between home, school, and the wider community served by the school, and to help each student develop to his or her full potential. The School Council works closely with staff to promote a positive school climate, encourage school spirit, to support curriculum initiatives, and to organize fundraising events.
